Its that time of year where the tree's turn from their green to magnificent oranges, yellows and soft greens. Where you put away summer clothes only to get into warm fuzzy soft cozy pants, warm hot cider and soft fall moments. I love the fall time its a time where you can still do outside if you want but love to be doors and watch the wind whip around outside. We have had a amazing summer with tons of memories and lots of new adventures.
We had to do some laundry so off to Sylvan Lake to find a laundry mat we found one and we got to see the sights. How amazing some of the bikes were and the noise was incredible. This ws just a teaser of what we were up against. The picture of me with the lake and rock behind me is the rock that was used in National Treasure 2 ( at the end ), the picture of the hotel is where we stayed.
We were going to leave South Dakota on my birthday so the night before I saw the oppertunity to celebrate it a bit early. They had strawberry shortcake ( MY FAVORITE CAKE IN THE WORLD ) so everyone sang to me even the resturant help that was from another county and did not even know the words sang to me. The chef actually came out to wish me a Happy day. It was a pretty nice way to celebrate my day of birth. Thank you Cari, Russ, Randy, Sherri, Laura and of course my amazing sweetheart. You all made the day wonderful....
We headed off to Bear Country USA. Its like a Walk/Drive around zoo. They had elk, Arctic wolves, Big Horn sheep, Mountain Lion, Black bear, Grizzly Bear, Buffalo, A white Buffalo ( no one got a picture of it), Lynx, badger, Bobcat, procupine, baby black bear. MUCH MUCH fun.
The caves were amazing to be that deep in the earth and you were surrounded by nothing but rock and going deeper into the earth. We got to see stalactites, stalagmites, box work, geod's, rock crystals.
In South Dakota there are LOTS of caves. The night before we went to the caves we were coming home from Sturgis it was raining and the roads were very slippery we come around a corner where a guy jumped out from the side trying to get us to slow down so on wet ground on the bikes of course we were fish tailing. Georges bike wiped right then left then right again in the mean time my leg came off the pedal and hit the road jamming it from ankle to hip. Much Much pain but with enough medication, ice and I was feeling no pain. The crew wanted to do the caves the next day to gimpy (me) was not looking forward to it at all. The first cave was 700 stairs the next cave was 300 steps 1000 steps up and down steep and narrow. With a jammed up leg life was going to be fun. So off into the cave we went. Not easy at first but about half way thru it I threw my leg for some reason and everything ankle, knee, and hip all snapped back into place and I was all well again. Thank you Russ for the idea!
Our family was established in 1994 Where George and I met, we knew each other for approx 2 months before George proposed 4 months later we got hitched. On Feb 14 1996 we found out that our Keith would be coming. The day that boy was born he stole my heart. He has such a fire in him. He is strong and determined with a huge imagination. In Dec of 1998 we found out our second little boy would join our family. When Chad appeared my soul just sang he is very soft hearted with a huge love for animals. Chad is a slow to fire child but when he is there he moves mountains. George and I are blessed in so many ways. From our Faith to our Children God has blessed!
